Don’t you hate when someone asks you a question and you don’t know if it’s rhetorical or not?

2.5 miles yesterday, actually settled into half marathon pace (8:45) for the second mile without even trying. It was in the low 50s and sunny, by far the coolest run of the year. Gave me some confidence going into the race Sunday.

Have a phone conference with our web designer today at 1:00. Hoping to finally get our website up…our firm is about 15 months old and we still don’t have a website. It’ll be interesting to see if it actually brings us any business once it’s up and running.

God I love weekends in the fall. I look forward to every Saturday.

American Horror Story

…on FX is really good. Really twisted, but really good. Also really liked the first episode of The Walking Dead on AMC. It picked right back up from where season 1 left off.

Holy hell I just saw this commercial on TV. Look at this clown. His website name is OMGTAX.com. Good lord.

Couple of random thoughts

I think my favorite Jason Derulo song is the one where he sings his name at the beginning.

My favorite movie is that one with Samuel L. Jackson in it…

I’m in charge of my law firm’s twitter account and all I want to do is tweet jokes. Marketing for a law firm isn’t easy…you have to maintain this appearance of professionalism and rigidity, it seems. But I don’t want our firm to be a “typical” law firm, I want us to be approachable and likeable and “human,” not just robotic assholes in suits. There’s a fine line I have to walk…make sure I have enough “legal” tweets mixed in with jokes/funny commentary. People just expect lawyers to act a certain way, I think, and my natural inclination is not to act that way.

I hate when people say, “So and so would’ve been a good lawyer—they LOVE to argue!” I would’ve made a great NFL quarterback because I love to throw a football.

Last little run today

Probably going to get in 2.5 or 3 easy miles today just to keep my legs loose. This will be my last run before Sunday’s half.

When I see pro ping pong players on TV, I think two things: One, who would ever devote that much time to ping pong?; and two, HOLY SHIT I’M JEALOUS OF THAT FOREHAND.

“Tongue Tied.” I wrote this last summer in an attempt to write a song that I think would fit in perfectly on country radio. I’m still tweaking it a bit here and there, but I’m really happy with how it turned out. I don’t really have a “country” voice, but I like experimenting with writing different kinds of songs.

Last night’s extended happy hour is catching up with me. I’m tired. Having to get up at 5:30 this morning didn’t help.

I bought a new pair of running shorts from Old Navy the other day. They were on sale for $7, so I figured I’d try them out. I really liked them, so I went back and got another pair today. I actually like how they fit more than the Nike shorts I have.

I’m loving the colder weather today. Glad the rain is moving out by this afternoon.

I’ve sorta been on a songwriting and guitar-playing lull recently. It goes in waves. Haven’t really felt like picking the guitar up for about a month…but I may be getting the itch again. I have several songs I think are really good that I need to finish. Sometimes I just have to shelf them for a while and revisit later.
